Nikita (Ost) & Vadym (Meyer) met in 2009. At that time Nikita was an experienced keyboardist with professional music education playing funk in a band and Vadym was a DJ. Both were very passionate about music and inspired by ATB, Above & Beyond, Daft Punk, Daniel Kandi, Kyau & Albert, Maor Levi, Super8 & Tab started to produce Trance & Progressive music under the alias Ost & Meyer. Shortly after a few remixes were released on such labels as Infrasonic, Redux, Mondo and HBR.
In 2011 Ost & Meyer signed contracts with Enhanced Recordings & Anjunabeats and that was a real breakthrough in their music career. New singles and remixes got excellent reviews and supports from Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Kyau & Albert, Markus Schulz and many more. Ost & Meyer guest mixes are welcome by Anjunabeats Worldwide, Trance Around The World (ABGT) and other popular radioshows.
The same year Nikita & Vadym also launched their own studio and school for producers and DJs. In 2014 they opened the second studio for production, mixing and mastering services worldwide.
However during 2014 the guys sprung back into the thick of things by once again diversifying through their many gears that they possess, in which time they notched up no less than six strong international single releases from the likes of 10 Days (Amsterdam Trance), Double Black vs Local Heroes (Always Alive Recordings),Sky Hunter (Always Alive Recordings), Like We Love vs Matt Cerf feat Fenja (Always Alive Recordings), through to the absolutely epic international progressive smash Ost & Meyer with Ronski Speed and Cate Kanell – Fortress (Essentializm) finishing off the year once again, with their Enhanced Records partners with their Ost & Meyer – Million Miles Away (Always Alive Recordings).
2016 brought about many new challenges musically for the Ukrainian duo of which they once again had to re-adjust to the new global musical landscape that seemed to have had formed over night and had caught everyone unawares......off the back of such realignments the very studious and dynamic pair raised their heads with the beginning of a new collaboration with US songstress and songwriter - Aruna on two of her original records as co-producers. However before these two records were complete the guys came into focus with a more big room, progressive edge in the form of a collaboration called ‘’Flare’’ which was produced with the American Stan Arwell and released on Armada Trice to rave reviews right across the spectrum. That in turn caused the duo to further explore this territory to see what benefits it could yield for them long term.
So whilst the duo were experimenting in their Ukrainian studios the two came up with a new cooler, more minimalistic progressive sound and from there they started to develop an EP, which eventually found its way across to Zero3 Music in the form of ‘’Aventador’’ and ‘’Polaris’’ which subsequently have hit over 1million streams on Spotify ever since. Which has now prompted the pair to continue to search for their next instalment on Zero3 Music, a home that they find allows them to challenge and pursue their creative side far more than ever before.
However drawing 2016 to a close, it appears that the guys will indeed end on a high with their brand new and highly stunning remix of Kyau & Albert’s - ‘’All Your Colours’’ which is taken from the german duo’s newest album ‘’2o Years’’. Not bad for a duo that has been in the music industry now for almost 7 years, here’s to many more.
